Ah, the whimsical musings of my delighted (at the moment) mind. A short annoyance with gravol and it's chemical lullaby but I daresay I'm over that hump now.
What a truly amazing world we live in. If people devoted the energy they use to cause suffering imagine how much suffering they could eradicate as well? Double edged sword that is as swift as it is sharp. I suppose there must be suffering in order to have joy. The ultra oxymoron. My joyful suffering. At the very least, it's a good short story title. (Here's the part where we all have a good guffaw and smoke from our pipes like old Men in the Fifties)
One of my vices (I have few, I could count them on one hand) is old boob tube hilarity. I have been somewhat smitten with Quantum Leap and the whole premise of time vacations that this shows offers. What would I do? That's the question of the ages isn't it? A sardonic question to me yet I still ponder it. I have zero interest in the future and what it holds. That should be kept locked in a vault and dumped in the deepest part of the ocean to degrade and eventually disappear. The past however with it's sultry temptation of righting past wrongs and all the ultimately self serving things we would do while in time's sweet, intoxicating embrace. Time, my how it flies.

Blackpool running
Ever ask yourself why you don't live in a castle in the sky? Me too. Though wanton thoughts of delicious nonsense can be so fun, it does damper reality when we decide to return to it.
As it is, I sit in a garden oasis that is my home and life, and yet never can find the right combination to the safe. Is it the shiny ball syndrome? Perhaps. Or it could just be the musings of a lazy mind.
I admit the alluring embrace of Mary Jane herself adds to the appeal of my nonsensical musings but what writer or poet didn't have a vice in sheep's clothing?
Lost in a haze of manicures, pedicures and the occasional guilty viewing of reality TV, I find myself trying to see through the hurricane of life and ground myself. Why, you ask? Well I'm not quite sure. I prefer to not fit any mould but create it myself, yet like a spider who's spun a golden web, when destroyed, tries to desperately fix it and fit in with it's other spider peers. Why must I want to fit in? Well I suppose I am finally one of the masses. It's much easier to fit in, then to show both sides of a face that sometimes can be quite thoughtful, intelligent and thought provoking kindness or a side that hide a inner sanctum that most would run in fear of.
As my life passes me by like the switch of an old TV programme to a new one, I find so much irony in life. The rich strive to provide themselves with luxury and money yet feel a need to give back to charities that enable that priceless tax break to continue said life of luxury. The media blocks out all pertinent life events that would cause us to question what is truly important in life to show us the excess of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Has society become this vapid?
Sitting here with a copy of Hollywood Babylon 2 next to me certainly causes deep thought. All the clandestine activities of those long dead make for salacious reading on a boring Sunday.
I suppose I should wrap up this adventure that began in my mind and figure out what to make for the proverbial 'Sunday Dinner'. Why must this be so important? Why can't every dinner be made with such caring and preparation? Mix one cup of organic food with a half cup of exercise bakes a wonderful healthy body. Why is it we don't care until it's too late?
We are a flawed, wonderful species.
